A coalition of civil society organisations successfully prevented or stopped 9,551 child marriages in 2022-23, with 60% of affected girls aged 15 to 18. States like Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand averted the highest number of child marriages. Legal interventions and parental counseling played vital roles in curbing this social issue.
