Sikkim rolls out free educational supplies for govt. school students as new academic year begins

On the first day of the new academic session, the Sikkim Education Department distributed free textbooks and uniforms to 40,968 students across 767 government schools. The initiative, which also included monastic schools and Sanskrit pathshalas, aims to provide essential learning materials to all students, reducing financial barriers to education. This marks the second consecutive year of the successful distribution, reinforcing Sikkim’s commitment to inclusive education.
