To tackle Bengaluru’s acute water crisis, Karnataka Water Supply and Sewerage Board has banned the use of drinking water for car washing, gardening, construction, water fountains, and road construction. Violators will be fined Rs 5,000. Thousands of borewells have dried up, leading to a tripling of private tanker water prices.
