The implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act by BJP fulfills its poll pledge and highlights its commitment to protecting Hindus and other minorities in Muslim countries.The party pushed for implementation of the controversial amendments in the citizenship law with a view to protecting Hindus, Sikhs and other minorities in predominantly Muslim countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan despite aggressive protests by opposition parties and activists whom it has consistently accused of appeasement.
