Amit Shah, the Union home minister, stated that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will never be taken back and dismissed claims that it is unconstitutional. He also dismissed any provision on detention camps in the Act. Shah clarified that the law does not violate Article 14 and explained that the NRC is not interconnected with CAA.
