Canada’s Immigration Minister Marc Miller revealed a significant drop in study permits issued to Indian students, a consequence of diplomatic tensions leading to the expulsion of Canadian diplomats by India. This resulted in an 86% decrease in permits issued in the fourth quarter of the previous year. Miller hinted at a possible cap on international student numbers to address Canada’s housing demand. Alternatives for Indian students include the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and Saudi Arabia, each offering distinct advantages in education and opportunities.
