Officials from the state’s NEP 2020 steering committee reported concerning trends in higher education institutes, where subjects such as “religion, jingoism, and blind hero-worship” were taught using Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). They intend to revise NEP implementation by forming a subcommittee to develop guidelines for IKS subjects. Changes include altering subject selection processes to increase flexibility.
