Initiating action in coordination with various intermediaries, ministry of information and broadcasting blocked 18 over-the-top (OTT) platforms for obscene and vulgar language content on Thursday. The ministry also blocked multiple websites, applications and social media handles of the blocked OTTs nationwide for violation of IT Act, IPC and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
