Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in the 2024-25 interim Budget, announced plans to establish more medical colleges using existing hospital infrastructure, emphasizing improved healthcare services. A committee will examine this initiative. Additionally, the government aims to boost vaccination for girls aged 9-14 to prevent cervical cancer. Maternal and child healthcare schemes will be streamlined, and Ayushman Bharat healthcare coverage will extend to ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, and helpers. The U-WIN platform for immunization management and Mission Indradhanush efforts will be rapidly implemented nationwide.
