Delhi residents, who recently endured one of the most intense heatwaves on record, are now confronted with widespread waterlogging caused by an unparalleled amount of rainfall within a single day. The downpour surpassed the city’s typical rainfall for the whole month of June. The torrential rains resulted in a fatal airport roof collapse, air travel disruptions, the shutting down of a metro station, obstructed underpasses, and severe traffic jams, turning the city’s relief from the scorching heat into chaos.
