India aims to achieve a “five-fold increase in its share of the global space economy” by 2040, according to the country’s space minister, Jitendra Singh. Currently at $8 billion, India’s space economy is projected to potentially reach $100 billion by 2040. Singh highlighted the growth of the private space sector, with nearly 200 startups and over Rs 1,000 crore investment in the current fiscal year.
