Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami is expected to miss the first two Test matches against England due to an ankle injury. Shami’s participation in the five-match Test series, post-treatment, is doubtful as he has not yet proven his fitness. He will need to go to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to demonstrate his fitness. Shami was included in the Test squad against South Africa too but was not cleared by the BCCI Medical Team.
