The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on Tuesday made it mandatory for candidates recruited directly to provide “service bond” of up to Rs 5 lakh which will be encashed in case someone quits within three years of joining. The move, ostensibly targeted at curbing attrition, has raised concerns among aspirants and current employees. The circular said that the selected candidates will have to submit the service bond on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 100 attested by a public notary to NHAI at the time of their joining.
