A new study suggests that reproductive risk factors in a female’s life can contribute to metabolic dysfunction, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. These risk factors include early menstruation, menstrual irregularity, polycystic ovary syndrome, high weight change during pregnancy, abnormal blood sugar and lipid levels during pregnancy, and menopausal symptoms.
