Assam skipper Riyan Parag’s belligerent innings stood as the second best, only behind wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s 48-ball ton against Jharkhand in the 2016 Ranji season. Parag achieved the milestone in just 56 balls on Day 4 of their Group B Ranji Trophy match against Chhattisgarh. Parag ultimately got out on 155 which came in 87 deliveries at a strike rate of 178.16. His impressive knock featured 11 boundaries and 12 sixes. Despite Parag’s significant contribution, Assam lost the match by 10 wickets as Chhattisgarh successfully chased down the paltry target of 87 runs in 20 overs.
