Apple is two years behind Google, Microsoft, and Amazon in embracing AI. However, it is reportedly working on bringing generative AI features, including text summarization and question answering, to its devices. The upcoming iOS 18 update may introduce these features, along with auto-summarizing and auto-complete capabilities in apps like Pages, Keynote, and Apple Music. Apple is also developing AI-based tools for developers and an AI system to assist AppleCare employees. Siri, powered by the language model Ajax, will receive AI upgrades and may debut in its generative AI form in iOS 18. Apple’s full-scale generative AI vision is expected by 2025.
