Civic authorities in Bengaluru are refilling drying lakes with treated water, installing filter borewells, and constructing water plants to replenish groundwater sources. The Indian Institute of Science and the Irrigation Department are collaborating on this initiative. The government is taking control of private water tankers to supply water from outside the city. With these measures, an additional 20-30 MLD of water is expected to be added to the system, providing hope for a sustainable solution to the water crisis in Bengaluru.
