As UPI gains popularity in India, scams associated with this digital payment system are increasing. Scammers target vulnerable individuals and extract significant sums of money through fraudulent activities. Recently, a woman successfully prevented a scammer from deceiving her. The scammer claimed to transfer her father’s ‘LIC money’ to her Google Pay account, but she realized it was a scam and stopped it. UPI scams include fake bill scams, fake investment schemes, and fake customer support services. To stay protected, users should avoid sharing sensitive information, clicking on unfamiliar links, and accepting money requests from unknown sources.
