On Thursday, an avalanche hit the Sonamarg region of Jammu and Kashmir along the Srinagar-Leh Highway. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported as a result of the avalanche. The incident took place in close proximity to a workshop for the construction of the Zojila tunnel in Sonamarg. Additionally, earlier this week, another avalanche hit the skiing slopes of the Gulmarg resort located in the Baramulla district.
