The United States’ first moon landing attempt in over 50 years faces jeopardy as a private company’s spacecraft, Peregrine, developed a “critical” fuel leak merely hours after its Monday liftoff from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. According to the company, a propulsion system problem “threatens the ability of the spacecraft to soft land on the moon.” Shortly after the launch, Astrobotic managed to orient the lander towards the sun for solar charging as a team investigated a “failure in the propulsion system.”
