In an ongoing nationwide voter registration campaign led by the Election Commission (EC) since January of the previous year, women have outpaced men in terms of new voter enrollments. According to the latest EC report, covering the 13-month period until January of the current year, women surpassed men by 15% in the addition of new voters. Out of the 2.6 crore individuals registered as new voters during this timeframe, 1.4 crore were women, while men accounted for 1.2 crore.
